CJ Ardis
Shaped by story, stitched by soul. Filmmaking forged by curiosity in character.
Hello everyone! My name is CJ. I am a filmmaker born and raised in the Nashville area of Middle Tennessee.
I’m a director, writer, and producer because I’m passionate about stories. My biggest inspiration is humanity as a whole- our psychology, how we behave, the general human condition. We all have a story, and stories are where the magic happens. I like designing characters who can relate to all walks of life in startling, but ultimately comforting, ways.
On set, I strive to keep a creative and safe environment. We respect all crew positions around here. Film is a team sport! I expect cast and crew on my sets to bring their all. I want there to be an emphasis on crew members being treated well and how creativity is fostered and pushed to its limits to make every project the best it can be.
In the near future, I envision myself having completed an indie feature film or limited series under my production company Asteria Film and Media Co, and at that point working on my next feature or possibly being in the writers room of an up-and-coming new television show.
My creative work is heavily driven by the desire to change how anyone can see themselves interacting with the world in a more informed, empathetic way. I want to express stories that really push the margins of society and show how complex people and our relationships with others can be- and how that’s a good thing.
I’d love to work with up and coming actors and filmmakers who are looking to make great projects but have yet to find their breakthrough. I like people who are motivated to make things happen and give the world something fresh and new in the world of film and television. My interest can also be piqued in unique ways to tell stories through new media- experimental media is always a fun challenge!
Ideally, I’d obviously love to be hired on the next big blockbuster. But it’s okay if, for now, you’d like to subscribe to my blog and follow me on social media! Keep up with my writings and projects because I love sharing what I do. Maybe something I make will inspire you!
